While the Sea Shepherd crew has not been able to stop the whaling fleet from continuing their operations, they aren’t ready to back down yet either. In part they claim victory as they have been able to at least keep the whalers from reaching their quota. Full of emotion and more determined than ever they refuse to back down. Placing their ship between the harpoon and factory vessels they attempt to block the transfer of the whale. Unfortunately as Captain Paul Watson speaks to the media, lack of experience at the helm almost puts them out of position.

Captain Watson is then left to perform a dangerous maneuver by turning tightly and coming around on the ship. However as the Harpoon boat prepares the transfer the Steve Irwin is unable to catch up and get in position to try and run over the line cutting it and releasing the dead whale. In the end they end up launching a throwing attack that culminates into a collision of the two ships. It is more obvious than ever that the Sea Shepherds are not willing to give up their fight. With some damage done to the ship and fuel reserves running dangerously thin they reluctantly decide this years operation is over and head back to port. Waiting for them at the dock is the Australian Federal Police who detain the crew and serve a search warrant confiscating the ships log book and countless hours of Animal Planet raw footage that is copied and later returned.
