Sea Shepherd Announces Operation Blue Rage On May 1 st , 2010, Sea Shepherd’s flag ship Steve Irwin will depart from New York City and head towards the Mediterranean where it will commence Sea Shepherd’s 2010 Tuna Defense Campaign: Operation Blue Rage. The campaign aims to stop a variety of criminal activities leading to the extinction of bluefin tuna. Bluefin tuna currently face illegal poaching and extreme overfishing, and populations have fallen by at least 85% since the industrial fishing era began.
